I won’t make a long intro, let’s get to the point. There are many good books written about sleeping, we have recommended the best ones in another article, but there are four which are written particularly to solve the problem you have. And here are my four tips that you should try, believe me, it’s worth it.
If you have problems falling asleep I would recommend you 4 things that you should do immediately (if you can):
1, Buy a different mattress.
I still believe that mattresses with regular springs are the best and the ones with high tech NASA memory foam are the worst (!), but people differ. Of course, changing the mattress is the hardest and most expensive, so if you can’t do it just go on and make sure you do all the following three steps.
2, Take your bed and push it to a different corner of your bedroom, also to a different angle if possible.
If your room is small, try to turn it by 90 degrees. If you can’t turn it, try sleeping the other way around (change your head and leg position). Believe me, it will just affect your brain and give you a whole new experience. I don’t know how and why it works, but it works.
3, Buy one of these four books.
You don’t need to buy all four books, just pick one, use your instincts (or roll a dice), all of these are great and helped a lot of people. Just make sure you have something to read before going to sleep. All these books can capture your thoughts in a good way, so just read 30 minutes before going to bed and this should be the last activity of the day (and not checking Facebook/Instagram etc.!!!)
4, Try some natural sleep aids
I will be honest with you, I don’t trust any kind of drugs and believe that you can overcome insomnia without using any. But if you need something to hold on to, then buy these, it’s all natural, either it will help you or at least cause no harm.
+1, If you like music, use it to your advantage!
Of course, the right kind of music is needed. There may be thousands of albums out there which help, but I can recommend you two that I know will do the job. One (and by far the best) is The Last of the Mohicans OST.
Yeah, I know, it sounds weird, but this music just has something that captures and quiets your mind. If you have many thoughts rallying in your head, they will all be gone. I tell you the truth, I have never once heard the last song of this album.
The other one is a bit less mainstream and it may not be the right choice for you, but if you are not repelled by light metal music, then buy album Elizium by Fields of the Nephilim and give it a try.
